On September 17, 2024, Cutting Edge Concerts, in collaboration with The Village Trip, will present a unique concert at The Salmagundi Club in New York City celebrating legendary artists Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and Jackson Pollack who lived and worked in Greenwich Village. Highlights include an aria from John Musto’s opera about Hopper, Later the Same Evening, performed by soprano Amy Burton with John Musto at the piano; Jennifer Higdon’s American Canvas, performed by the Dolce Suono Trio; Victoria Bond’s “Dancing Colors” from Blue and Green Music after a painting by Georgia O’Keeffe. A special showing of the PBS documentary about Jackson Pollack with a score by Roger Trefousse will be shown before the concert, with the composer speaking about his work.
